Our Mission
We started this project with a simple goal: to make NYC's restaurant inspection data more accessible and useful. While this data is publicly available through NYC OpenData, it isn't always easy to access or interpret. We wanted to create an interactive, easy-to-use platform that helps diners make informed choices and gives restaurant owners the tools to understand and improve their inspection performance.
For Consumers
Diners can easily search for restaurants by name, cuisine, or location, and filter results by health grade, borough, or food type. Each listing includes recent inspection details, letter grades, and any reported violations. Logged-in users can also leave reviews, share their dining experiences, and soon — make reservations directly through the platform.
For Restaurant Owners
Restaurant owners can log in to access a personalized dashboard for their business. They can view their restaurant's inspection history, track common violations, and monitor how their grades have changed over time.
